For the full clinical evidence on DoxyPEP — the trials, dosing protocol, who it's appropriate for, and the AMR debate — see DoxyPEP: The Evidence & The Protocol first.
The Czech Position
No national Czech clinical guideline recommends DoxyPEP as of 2026. The Czech Society for Infectious Diseases is aware of the evidence base but has not issued a formal recommendation. Off-label prescribing is possible through the HIV Centrum specialists who follow international literature closely.
Practical Access
Via HIV Centrum at Bulovka or ÚVN
The infectious disease specialists at Bulovka's HIV Centrum and ÚVN are the most likely to be familiar with the international trial data. Raise it at a monitoring appointment:
"Četl jsem o doxycyklinu jako postexpozičníprofylaxi pro pohlavně přenosné nemoci — můžeme to probrat?" (I've read about doxycycline as post-exposure prophylaxis for STIs — can we discuss it?)
Via ČSAP / Dům Světla
Dům Světla can advise on which HIV Centrum clinicians are currently engaging with the DoxyPEP evidence and can facilitate a referral.
Cost
Doxycycline is inexpensive in Czechia — approximately 200–400 CZK per month (€8–16) at typical DoxyPEP usage rates. The cost of the consultation is the main variable.
