🏥 Where to Get It
The most straightforward way to access PrEP is through community-based NGOs. Organizations like Alliance Global and 100% Life act as bridges to the medical system.
- Contact an NGO: Reach out to an LGBT-friendly organization in your region.
- Initial Assessment: You will be directed to a Trust Cabinet (Кабінет Довіри) or a designated clinic.
- Medical Check: An infectious disease doctor will perform a rapid HIV test and a baseline kidney function test (creatinine).
- Prescription and Dispensing: Once cleared, the medication is dispensed directly to you.
You can also go directly to regional AIDS Centers or local infectious disease hospitals, but navigating through an NGO often provides a more affirming and streamlined experience.
💊 Supply and Monitoring
- First Visit: You will typically receive a 30-day supply of PrEP.
- Follow-up: Subsequent visits usually involve receiving a 60-day or 90-day supply, depending on stock levels and your adherence.
- Monitoring: Routine blood tests for kidney function and HIV status are required to continue receiving the medication.
🕒 On-Demand (2-1-1) PrEP
The daily dosing schedule is the standard of care recommended by doctors. While the 2-1-1 (event-driven) method is clinically recognized globally, it may not be officially promoted or prescribed by all local doctors. If you prefer the on-demand method, discuss it directly with your infectious disease doctor or an NGO consultant to ensure you receive the appropriate advice and pill count.
