Luxembourg's healthcare system is universally accessible through the state health insurance (CNS), but for sexual health specifically, the public hospital network—primarily the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL)—and specialized NGOs act as the primary gateways for most care.

⚖️ The Golden Rules

1. The CHL is the Sexual Health Hub

The Service National des Maladies Infectieuses (Unit 20) at the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL) is the epicenter for HIV care, PEP emergencies, and PrEP access in the country. It operates 24/7 for emergencies.

2. NGOs for Free, Anonymous Testing

While general practitioners (GPs) and private labs can test you, HIV Berodung (run by the Red Cross) and CIGALE offer free, anonymous rapid testing for HIV, syphilis, and Hepatitis C without a prescription or a CNS card.

3. CNS Covers the Rest

If you are registered with the Caisse Nationale de Santé (CNS), the vast majority of your medical costs—including PrEP and follow-up lab tests—are heavily reimbursed or covered entirely through the third-party payment system.

💬 Anonymous Partner Notification

If you test positive for an STI and cannot face telling a recent partner directly—whether due to safety concerns, anxiety, or not having their contact details—you still have a responsibility to stop onward transmission.

Luxembourg does not currently have a centralized, public anonymous notification portal. The most effective route is to ask the clinic or doctor who diagnosed you to assist; many local sexual health units or NGOs can facilitate confidential partner notification on your behalf without revealing your identity. It's always better than silence.
